This luminous Illusion Glass work is inspired by a quiet moment next door: watching a beekeeper gently reveal the honeycomb, where a single golden bee still tended the comb chambers with careful devotion. Hand-painted with specialized European enamel glass paints that fuse permanently upon firing, the bee, its delicate wings, and the hexagonal honeycomb glow with rich depth and lifelike warmth—golden amber tones, creamy yellows, and subtle highlights creating an illusion of living labor suspended in glass.
The circular composition is framed in traditional lead came construction, accented by hand-twisted copper wirework that forms elegant, organic tendrils and supports. Crystal beads, glass accents, and a small enameled bee charm at the base add subtle sparkle and narrative completion. The piece is suspended from a custom copper hanging element and rests above a flared, customized bowl base, evoking a gentle downward flow of sweetness and care.
Designed with a deliberate dual nature, it reveals its full magic in two lights: radiant and translucent when natural daylight shines through from behind, unveiling vibrant depth and illusion; painterly and richly atmospheric when viewed in ambient indoor light or shade, appearing as a glowing, hand-painted composition suspended in time.
Materials : Hand-cut art glass, lead came and solder, European enamel glass paints, hand-twisted copper wire, crystal beads, seed bead glass accents, custom formed base.
Dimensions : Approximately 4” diameter, total height including hanging and base ~16–18”.
Display Options: A handcrafted display stand created by Mark and Sandra is Included (artists discretion). Additionally, all pieces can also be hung using a simple pressure rod and hook.

Lead Note: This Illusion Glass piece uses traditional leaded solder sealed with a protective polymer coating. It is safe for normal decorative use.
