Materials & Safety Information

At Art Illusions by Young, every piece is handmade with care using traditional and modern materials. Below is important information about the materials we use.

Illusion Glass (Painted Glass)

Lead Statement : We typically use standard solder and lead came, which contains lead, in our stained glass (Illusion Glass) pieces. This is the industry standard for leaded glass work.

However, we apply a protective polymer seal over all lead and soldered areas. While lead is present in the solder and around the perimeter of the glass piece, the finished pieces are completely safe for normal use as suncatchers, wall hangings, and decorative art. Lead cannot be absorbed through intact skin — only through ingestion or an open wound.

If a product description does not specifically mention “lead-free solder,” you can assume traditional leaded solder has been used.
