Crawfish Boil – Louisiana Tradition Captured

A table set for gathering and joy

This striking wall sculpture transforms a familiar Louisiana crawfish boil into art. Real taxidermy crawfish, hand-sculpted polymer clay corn, potatoes, garlic, lemons, and spices rest on a traditional checkered tablecloth and newspaper (featuring a miniature Times-Picayune with Jazz Fest reference). The entire scene is encased in three gallons of crystal-clear epoxy and hung from an authentic handmade copper-wired crawfish net. A joyful celebration of family, food, and culture.

The piece was inspired by the lively gatherings that define Louisiana life — the newspaper, the spices, the laughter around a table covered in crawfish. It captures the sensory memory of those moments in a permanent, artistic form.
