This luminous wall-mounted diorama is the result of Mark’s long-held vision: a serene, dimensional escape into the heart of New Orleans’ City Park, handcrafted onto one of four rare sinker cypress slabs from Art Illusions by Young.
Beginning with the richly textured, naturally aged sinker cypress base, Mark meticulously layered scenic painted backgrounds, lush moss, wildflower accents, and delicate foliage elements for seasonal realism. The iconic arched stone bridge—painted with subtle depth and perspective—spans a shimmering epoxy pond where Sandra’s hand-sculpted and painted peacock, mama duck and three ducklings glide peacefully. Completing the whimsical foreground, the beautifully iridescent peacock stands sentinel, its tail feathers catching light in a burst of blues, greens, and golds against the mossy, blooming landscape.
The piece glows with soft, ethereal luminescence, inviting quiet contemplation of nature’s gentle harmony. Measuring 22” high × 10” wide × 8” deep, this wall-hung original captures the timeless tranquility of City Park in intimate, collectible form.
