This large luminous handcrafted hummingbird feeder showcases the artistry of intricate copper wirework. From our studio in Folsom, Louisiana, a clear recycled wine bottle is enveloped in an elegant lace-like cage of heavy gauge copper wire, carefully shaped into flowing spirals, loops, and organic tendrils that create both structural beauty and visual lightness. The transparent glass allows the delicate wire patterns to take center stage while still revealing the nectar inside.
The design balances beauty and functionality: a drilled cork with a custom bent copper tube ensures proper nectar flow, while the decorative copper cage provides graceful support. A hand-sculpted polymer clay burgundy flower port at the base adds a final artistic accent. Suspended from a sturdy copper hanging loop with a large ceramic cobalt disc, this feeder transforms an everyday necessity into a refined sculptural piece that enhances any garden, porch, or outdoor space.
Each hummingbird feeder is one-of-a-kind, born from our desire to create beautiful alternatives to ordinary plastic feeders. Though all feeders may drip slightly in high heat, our designs prioritize both artistic elegance and practical performance.
