From our studio in Folsom, Louisiana, this luminous Calico Cat Illusion Glass celebrates the distinctive charm of a calico cat, its coat of vibrant orange and white patches rendered with soft, expressive detail against a warm, swirling backdrop. Hand-painted with specialized European enamel glass paints that fuse permanently to the surface upon firing, the cat’s alert eyes, delicate whiskers, and flowing fur glow with rich depth and lifelike warmth. Vibrant amber oranges, deep blacks, crisp whites, and subtle undertones of blue and gold create an illusion of quiet personality suspended in glass.
The circular composition is framed in traditional lead came construction and accented by hand-twisted copper and silver wirework that forms elegant, organic tendrils and supports. A beautiful hanging embellishment of faceted amber, AB, aqua, clear, and pearled beads adds gentle sparkle and rhythmic flow, completed by a miniature kitty charm. The piece is suspended from a custom copper hanging element and rests above a flared, hand-formed bowl base, evoking a sense of cozy, feline elegance.
