From our studio in Folsom, Louisiana, this luminous Fantail Koi Pond Illusion Glass evokes the tranquil beauty of a garden pond, where two multi-colored fantail koi glide gracefully among lily pads in perfect, silent harmony. Hand-painted with specialized European enamel glass paints that fuse permanently to the surface upon firing, the koi, their flowing fins, shimmering scales, and surrounding lily pads glow with rich depth and lifelike serenity. Vibrant oranges, deep blacks, crisp whites, emerald greens, and subtle royal blues create an illusion of living movement suspended in glass.
The square composition is framed in traditional lead came construction and accented by hand-twisted silver-plated copper wirework that forms delicate, organic tendrils and supports. Glass microbeads and turquoise Austrian crystals are embedded to enhance the watery texture and sparkling light play across the surface. Coordinating beadwork in cobalt, orange, turquoise, royal blue, and tangerine AB crystal tones adds rhythmic elegance and color depth. A beautiful Austrian crystal fish charm dangles at the base, completing the peaceful underwater narrative.
