From our studio in Folsom, Louisiana, the Sunfish Regatta Illusion Glass captures the joy and energy of small sailboats racing on open water. Brightly colored Sunfish sails cut across the scene with dynamic movement, while the hand-painted and leaded glass creates beautiful light effects. The piece glows vibrantly when daylight passes through and transforms into a painterly composition under ambient indoor light.
The work is framed in traditional lead came construction with hand-twisted copper elements that add both strength and artistic detail. It rests on a custom base that enhances the luminous quality, allowing the regatta scene to come alive whether viewed in bright daylight or soft indoor illumination.
Materials : Hand-cut art glass, lead came and solder, European enamel glass paints, hand-twisted copper wire, custom display base.
